Central Morocco / March 31 - Apr. 7, 2018
SUMMARY
Our first trip to the continent of Africa, I would have to say Morocco was a great start. A country rich in history, culture, and delicious food. Going with a group of friends, we had a blast navigating this new environment and meeting interesting people along the way.
In short, I think the highlights for me were staying in a traditional riad (private home with a courtyard) to enjoy home-cooked Moroccan meals and going through the valleys, mountains and waterfalls of Ourika.
LIST OF RESTAURANTS AND SIGHTS

Restaurants and More :
*All Marrakech addresses
-
Le Salama, 40 Rue des Banques (beautiful open air rooftop bar)
-
AirBnB - we stayed at an Airbnb in a traditional riad called Riad Miliana
-
La table de la kasbah, 14 derb hajra kasbah (amazing rooftop restaurant with a stunning view and delicious food)
-
Palais Jad Mahal, Rue Haroun Errachid (restaurant with belly dancing). Great show with dancing and a magical atmoshpere. Only downside is it was so dark you could not see your food!
-
Le Jardin, L32 Souk Jeld Sidi Abdelaziz (outdoor courtyard restaurant with traditional Moroccan dishes, very nice!)
-
Comptoir Darna, Avenue Echouhada (more belly dancing and dinner). This restaurant was very nice as well, but I would not recommend doing two of these kinds of restaurants more than once in a span of a week.
-
Jamaa El Fna Square (food stalls within the square) A must-do experience that you have to see to believe. Hundreds of food stalls and sales people clammoring to get you to eat their food!
-
Café des Epices, 75 Derb Rahba Lakdima (modern and fresh restaurant that is great for lunch). A welcomed break from all the heavy tajines and couscous.
-
Streetfood in the winding alleys of the city - we tried pastillas, beans, roasted chicken with lemon, fresh pita, merguez sausage, and chicken kebab
-
Café Kif Kif, 28 rue koutoubia (another rooftop restaurant in the city with a view of the tower at Koutoubia mosque)
