LIST OF RESTAURANTS AND SIGHTS

Restaurant :

• Le Saint André, 1 Place de la Liberté, 84480 Bonnieux (lunch, duck breast and potatoes au gratin topped with ratatouille, lavendar icecream for dessert). A well-presented and hearty meal accompanied by a delicious bottle of Gigondas red wine. The lavendar icecream was a surprising highlight! We ate on the terrace in the sunshine.

Sights in Bonnieux:

• Bonnieux - église haute - at the highest point of the city, there is an ancient church with parts dating back to the 10th and 12th centuries. Most of what you'll see today is from the 15th century. Unfortunately, we were not able to access the interior. But it was a pleasure to walk up the stone steps and surrounding forest and gardens

• Take time walking through the winding streets and alleys of the town. This is the best thing you can see while you're there. Also, the sweeping views from the hill top are extremely charming.

Sights In Roussillon :​

• Le Sentier des Ocres - walking trails that bring you through a former ochre quarry. You almost have the impression that you are in Arizona at times with the bright punches of orange and yellow colors. What is ochre? Ochre (or ocher) is a natural clay earth pigment which is a mixture of ferric oxide and varying amounts of clay and sand. It ranges in colour from yellow to deep orange or brown. It is also the name of the colours produced by this pigment, especially a light brownish-yellow.

• Similarly to Bonnieux, make sure you take the time to wander the maze of streets going through this small time. Full of shops, cafés, restaurants, and quaint homes, you will be inspired to take lots of photos. This town is also unique because of the intense ochre color used in their buildings.
